On Tuesday, January 4, Community Board 7 held its first meeting of the year over Zoom. This included a full board vote which approved the following multi-block street fairs to take place between April and October.

All street fairs are being produced by Clearview Festival except for the Valley Restoration, LDC event, which is being produced by Mardi Gras Festival.
ILTUWS spoke to a rep from Clearview Festival who informed us a full roster of vendors will be available between early February and mid-March. If you’re interested in becoming a vendor you can apply here.
Which calls to mind – WHO at CB7 vets these events which give away our public streets to vendors and block traffic and create noise? For one, the Manhattan Valley Development Corp is a non-existent organization with no financial accountability, a board that answers to no one, yet annually raises money for what purpose – and all on public streets??? Check out their website, they have no accomplishments in the past ten years and no firm plans yet they somehow have political clout to garner these street permits without question. CB 7 is operating with political blinders on for decades now with no regard for businesses and true residents.
