While it isn’t really in my interest to drive my audience members out of the Upper West Side, I find myself wondering what life could be like on the other side. While I should be working. But, I might as well turn these twisted fantasies into website content. Here are 5 NYC neighborhoods with cheap houses!

Keep in mind, our focus of this article is “cheap” houses.  So we’re excluding neighborhoods that don’t have a lot of them.  I’ll write about cheap apartments in another post. Maybe.

The Rockaways, Queens

Live by the beach in this revitalized neighborhood of Queens, for prices starting at $300K and change! It’s accessible by the A train and there are tons of new bars and restaurants constantly opening.

Throgs Neck, Bronx

Located in the southeastern Bronx, Throgs Neck is a quiet area with boat docks, golf courses and beautiful beaches. There are no train lines, so most residents have cars.

West Brighton, Staten Island

West Brighton is located in Staten Island’s north shore. There are quiet, suburban streets located within a short walk to plenty of restaurants and shopping. It’s also home to the Staten Island Zoo.

Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn

Located between Marine Park and Sheepshead Bay, this south Brooklyn neighborhood is a boating and fishing enclave home to many multi-generational families; it’s a place many natives choose to stay!
