72nd Street Dog Run

Last modified on November 28th, 2019

You’ll see the 72nd Street Dog Run as soon as you enter the southernmost entrance of Riverside Park. We’ve had lots of fun days here.  One great thing about it is that there’s a separate run for big and small dogs, which helps me keep my little guy safe from danger (he’s usually the instigator).

For those of you who live a bit further uptown, here are my posts about the 87th Street Dog Run and the 105th Street Dog Run.

72nd Street Dog Run

It was officially opened in November of 2004 by FLORAL, an upper west side dog owner and park advocacy group.  FLORAL (Friends & Lovers Of Riverside Area Life) is the volunteer organization that has represented the community of dog owners in the south end of Riverside Park since 1995.

Steps to the Pier i Cafe, this location is a great pitstop on a nice spring or summer day as water is provided, however it is open all season long.
