Read about Taste of the Upper West Side 2018!
As spring and summer time are rapidly approaching we are excited to announce the mouthwatering 9th annual New Taste of the Upper West Side, which will start Friday, June 3rd and end Saturday, June 4th. This two night food extravaganza showcases the finest in Upper West Side dining and will be a sneak peek for future culinary hits with Upper West Side restaurants that have not opened yet. We take great pride in an event that highlights our favorite New York neighborhood especially with celebrity chefs and restaurant heavyweights making an appearance at this year’s New Taste of the Upper West Side.
The festivities kick off with an ode to the beginning of summer with restaurants putting their own twist on the classic surf & turf meal. With a beach themed background behind them chefs like Michelin-star rated April Bloomfield and Ken Friedman, of The Spotted Pig and The Breslin, will be showcasing what they have to offer from a new, yet to be named restaurant. Grilling alongside them will be neighborhood newcomers like Jin Ramen, of Han Dynasty and Playa Betty’s (they make the best margaritas on the Upper West Side!) and established favorites like Momofuku Milk Bar, Jacob’s Pickles, and Shake Shack just to name a few. Hosted by Anne Burrell, host of Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America” and Alex Guarnaschelli, Chef and owner of Butter and judge on Food Network’s “Chopped” it all will be accompanied by a phenomenal selection of wines, craft beers, and innovative cocktails.Saturday is dedicated to the Upper West Side’s masters of the culinary craft with the Best of the West theme of the evening. Old time favorites and new restaurants will all be bringing out there A game preparing unique and delicious dishes showing exactly why the Upper West Side should be a foodie’s destination on the map. Restaurants like Boulud Sud, RedFarm, and Dovetail will be side by side with new favorites like Crave Fishbar, Olma Caviar Boutique & Lounge, and Orwasher’s Bakery. This evening will be hosted by Sara Gore of NBC’s “New York Live” and “Open House”. This is an evening not to be missed as chances to try food from all these great places at once is a rare find.
We are very excited to be attending an event of this accord, and I have definitely gotten hungrier just thinking about it!
