“While New York City is open, Covid-19 remains a reality for all of us,” the website for Restaurant Week states. “We aim to provide you with the most current information about our NYC Winter Outing programs, but due to ongoing developments, we recommend checking with venues before you go. Proof of vaccination is required for everyone age 5 and over to participate in indoor activities, including dining in restaurants and attending Broadway shows. Click the button for details on current vaccination and masking guidance.”
NYC Restaurant Week goes back to 1992, when it was created by Tim Zagat and Joe Baum. Since then, it has been occurring twice per year in both NYC and in cities throughout the country (outside of 2020). Since its inception, Restaurant Week has grown wildly in popularity and participation, with virtually every New York City publication covering the food fest each year.
