An upscale skincare studio specializing in affordable and quick facial treatments is coming to the Upper West Side. Glowbar is slated to open its eighth location in New York City on Friday, October 20 at 805 Columbus Ave (at 100th St.). The Glowbar storefront will share the address with Play Street Museum (coming soon) and Five Below.

Glowbar’s 30-minute facials have become popular across the brand’s seven current locations throughout New York City, Long Island, and Connecticut, with another new location planned for Hoboken. A $55-a-month membership offers one free monthly treatment, additional treatments for $55, one guest pass per year, in addition to other perks and discounts. Treatments are $75 for non-members.
The skincare brand was founded in 2019 by Rachel Liverman, a third-generation aesthetician, and was self-funded until closing a $10M Series A funding round in early 2023. Glowbar counts Drybar co-founder Alli Webb and Bluemercury co-founder Marla Beck among its board of advisors.

“Glowbar has found a white space in the very saturated beauty world meeting an unfulfilled need for a quick, but extremely effective facial,” said Webb in a press release earlier this year.
Liverman’s grandmother founded the first fully-accredited institute in the United States, according to an interview Liverman did with Moffly Media. The mission of Glowbar is to offer quick, affordable facial treatments that would leave customers feeling more confident in their skin.

“Our facials are meant to make you feel good from the inside out because when you feel good, you do good and we want to have the experience at Glowbar be lasting throughout the day,” Liverman told Moffly Media. “I always say that if you feel good, you’re more patient with your partner or children, nicer to the barista when getting coffee and more likely to smile at a teenager. That’s what we hope Glowbar does for our clients.”
