Inspiration moves the Upper West Side brightly. In December, ILTUWS announced the UWS Candy Cane Crawl, where people could score sweet deals all throughout the neighborhood. Now, the West 72nd Street Block Association is hosting its first-ever annual ‘Cupid Crawl,’ inviting everyone to enjoy wine tastings, Valentine’s Day treats, giveaways, and special promotions from local businesses along West 72nd Street on Saturday, February 8.

“The goal is to foster community and support businesses along West 72nd Street in a festive way,” wrote the Block Association in a press release to ILTUWS. What’s especially exciting is the number of participants already signed on. From as far west as Kossar’s Bagels and Bialys at 270 West 72nd Street (offering 10% discounts) to Malin+Goetz at 72nd and Columbus (offering free engraving with the purchase of a candle or fragrance). They’ll also have complimentary floral-inspired cocktails and mocktails. Currently, 20 businesses are participating.

The promotions will take place during each shop’s regular business hours.

The Pet Market, with locations at 132 and 224 West 72nd Street, will extend their special through February 16. You’ll soon be able to take a photo with your pet valentine at the pet store’s kissing booth. The photo booth will be at their 224 West 72nd Street location from Friday, February 7, to Sunday, February 9, and at their 132 West 72nd Street location from Tuesday, February 11, to Sunday, February 16, both from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This gives you plenty of time to show the love to your pooch or feline friend.

Tanya Luxury Fashion Boutique (133 West 72nd Street), where you can find secondhand high-end designer items, is offering 15% off purchases over $75. Some new shoes and a skirt would pair well with a $2-off mani-pedi and a free heating pad at Michelle Nail Salon (240 West 72nd Street). Acker Wines (160 West 72nd Street) will toast the affair with free tastings of La Caravelle Champagne and Calvisius Caviar from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“What a fun initiative to bring the UWS community and business owners together,” said Tanya Young Williams, the owner of  Tanya Luxury Fashion Boutique. “As small business owners, we welcome every opportunity to meet the people who make the UWS special.”
