NEW YORK, NEW YORK– On Sunday September 14, 2014, The Art Studio NY will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a free community wide art event, Fall for Art, at 145 West 96th Street, #1B, New York, New York. Rated the #1 art studio in Manhattan and coined a “hidden jewel” in the press, The Art Studio NY offers fulfillment and stress relief through self-expressive art classes to city dwellers seeking a break from their hurried, pressured lives. Geared towards all ages and levels, The Art Studio NY inspires children and adults alike with over 60 art classes weekly.

Founded in 2004 by internationally renowned artist, Rebecca Schweiger, The Art Studio NY began in Schweiger’s small 1-bedroom apartment and is now housed in a 2,000 square foot art studio that thousands of New Yorkers call home. The Art Studio NY has attracted major press including NBC, TLC, New York Magazine, Forbes, Kourtney and Kim Take New York on E!, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, and more. The Art Studio NY offers a wide range of enriching art experiences including BYOB Painting Parties, Drawing at the MET and Central Park, Corporate Events, Children’s Afterschool Art Classes, Adult Daytime and Evening Oil Painting Classes, Birthday Parties, and many more.

Fall for Art will provide a variety of free entertainment including painting and drawing classes, live music, student art exhibits, major raffle prizes and more. Children and family activities will take place from 12PM to 2PM, while adults only activities will take place from 4PM to 7PM. The event promises for a fun-filled experience to help attendees escape the everyday and tap into their “inner artist”.

Rebecca Schweiger, Founder of The Art Studio NY, is dedicated to philanthropic causes that bring support to her art studio community. Rafi Kopelan, a 6-year-old artist and student of The Art Studio NY struggling with severe Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), known as “the worst disease you’ve NEVER heard of”, will exhibit her artwork during the Fall for Art event along with 100 other students of all ages. Proceeds from raffle tickets and artwork will benefit Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America (dEBra). Founded in 1980, dEBra is the only national non-profit dedicated to funding research for treatments and a cure, while providing services and programs for those who suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). EB is a debilitating and often fatal connective tissue disorder that affects 1 out of every 20,000 births in the United States.
