FIVE Amazon.com Storage Solutions You Shouldn’t Live Without

Last modified on July 31st, 2018

I love IKEA, but there are some seriously amazing storage solutions on amazon.com. that no city dweller should live without.

I also am a firm believer in Amazon Prime, because who knows when you’ll need a 3lb jar of minced garlic in a 36 hour turn around? Or if you pull your hamstring while doing jumps while at spin and need a foam roller before your next class? (Yes, both of these instances have happened to me, and I am forever grateful.)

In the past 3 years I have gone from a 452 sq ft apartment to a 2500 sq ft home to a 900 sq ft apartment, then to a 750 sq ft apartment. Storage solution in every situation has become a theme of my life, so here’s just a few of my (favorite) tricks:

  1. Storage shower curtain.

It keeps our small shower decluttered and organized. I wish I would’ve invented it (in my mind I did… I didn’t even know such a thing existed. I just googled shower curtain with pockets because I thought it could be a good idea, and viola, amazon.com was the first hit on my search. Go me.).

2. Adhesive hooks.

Find it here. It will save you $1.50 off retail and the hassle of going to the store. I used mine to hang my hair dryer on the inside of my cabinet door, hang my broom on the side of our fridge, and hang our pot holders on the inside of our kitchen sink cabinet. Oh, and hang my purse in the dead space on the wall of my closet. I’m sure I’ll find more uses though.

3. Narrow utility cart.

Find it here. Every tiny apartment has a space and use for this cart. In your bathroom, next to your fridge, in the small space next to your washer/dryer (if you’re lucky enough to have one, of course!).

4. Shoe holder.

Find it here.  Again, you can find these anywhere. But why not just order it online and see it at your door in less than 2 days? Plus it’s cheaper than IKEA and BB&B. I have one if these on the back of every door in my apartment. It’s solid white to blend in and you can’t see all the junk you store inside. I’m most proud of the one I hung on my bathroom door because it holds everything a bathroom cabinet, shelf, or counter usually does. But it’s soo much more organized. Medicine, lint roller, extra tube of tooth paste, extra tooth brush, face wash, rolled up hand towels. And the best part is that you are able to put an over-the-door towel hook on the same door and drape your towels on top of the shoe holder. Talk about seriously utilizing your cheapest piece of real estate.

5. Closet Condensing System.

It works – I have a lot (like, a lot) of clothes, and this worked like a charm! I wish I would have gotten metal hooks because there is plenty of room to double up my hangers, but then it would be too heavy and the plastic would break. Vertical is definitely key to an efficient closet. Find it here.
