This Saturday, June 13th, Moonrise Izakaya will be giving out free chicken bao buns beginning at 1:30pm. The restaurant is located at 774 Amsterdam Avenue, at 98th Street.
In an effort to bring a gleam of happiness and hope to the neighborhood, owner Jake Poznak is excited to be giving out free chicken bao buns to brighten up the weekend. In lieu of the free food, he’s encouraging patrons make donations to BCA Global (@bcaglobal) and/or Startout (@startoutcommunity).
BCA Global is a charity that supports people of color in the hospitality industry, and Startout is in support of LGBTQ+ rights in honor of Pride Month.
In these trying times, some delicious free food, with a charitable cause is just what we need to keep the hope alive. Donation links to the above charities will also be linked on Moonrise Izakaya’s website –www.moonriseizakaya.
