A new bar called The Upside has opened its doors at 588 Amsterdam Avenue, between 88th and 89th Streets.
This is the sister-bar of Amsterdam Ale House on 76th Street; back in June 2019, we announced that Ale House would be expanding, and we’re excited that it’s finally happened! As we mentioned in in our 2019 announcement, The Upside will have a backyard space, but it is in need of a full renovation – so this won’t be coming for a while.
The Upside is a full beer + liquor bar, and while there’s no official food menu, they are complying with regulations by offering peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for $1.
Like Amsterdam Ale House, this should be a popular spot for beer enthusiasts.
They’re also preparing for the eventual cold weather with some hot cocktails.
