Annalisa Brown established her practice, AB Acupuncture, in 2015, moving to the Upper West Side in 2020.

Ria Concepcion, L.Ac, an acupuncturist and herbalist with a MSTOM (Masters in Traditional Oriental Medicine), has been specially trained in women’s health and addressing the unique issues that women face throughout the phases of their lives.
This is a surprisingly underserved area of medicine because most medical studies are performed on men, so most of the literature doesn’t take into account the unique ways that the female body presents or how strongly hormones affect 40% of their lives. According to Annalisa, “Women are told that menstrual cramps are ‘normal,’ or that menopause is something we just have to grin and bear until it passes. But neither of these things have to be true. We can oftentimes significantly reduce or entirely eliminate those symptoms. It’s why I’m excited to be bringing Ria onboard, who is passionate about helping women.” Treatments for endometriosis, fertility, ovarian cysts, and various hormonally related symptoms are among Ria’s specialties.
Born in the Philippines and a New Yorker since her teenage years, Ria was first introduced to acupuncture after suffering a debilitating back injury. A single session provided her with incredible relief, and when she was later diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis – which multiple surgeries failed to resolve – it was acupuncture and Chinese medicine which finally allowed her to manage her condition. This was when she realized she had to share this gift with others.
