Alice’s Tea Cup has announced it will reopen its Upper West Side and Upper East Side locations on April 23.
“Chapter I,” the original Alice’s Tea Cup, is located at 102 West 73rd Street, between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. This location has been part of the Upper West Side for over 20 years now.
“Chapter II,” Alice’s UES store, is located at 156 East 64th Street, at the corner of Lexington Avenue.
Spring hours at both locations will be from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 6pm.

In December 2020 – soon after Governor Cuomo announced the indefinite suspension of indoor dining – the owners announced that they would be closing their doors until further notice, citing the health and safety of their employees as the main reason. They wrote the following message (in part) on their IG account at the time:
“Our determination to survive this challenging time is one of the reasons why we (again) have to close our doors, we hope only temporarily. This upcoming weekend will be our last until further notice. The main reason is that we are concerned for our staff as we see the COVID-19 numbers rise and worry about their commutes and exposures. Just behind that is that we are awaiting whatever the federal government is going to offer small businesses and need it in order to fully set up our outdoor dining in this weather and weather to come; we also need it to properly prepare for indoor dining when we baby-step into reopening so we feel it is done with the utmost safety for everyone, customers and employees alike.”
And they’re about to baby-step back into business.
