Amelie Wine Bar opened on the Upper West Side in late December of 2017. This UWS restaurant and bar features over fifty wines and, based on what the people are saying, some of the best French food on the Upper West Side.
About half of their wine list is European, mainly from France, with other options coming from California, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Chile and Argentina. They also offer a happy hour special (5pm-7pm) of three wine glasses for $12!!
As of now, their reviews are almost 100% five stars. All of their Facebook reviews are five-star, and they only have one three-star review on Yelp.
Here are some thoughts from two patrons:
The service is incredible and the food is delicious! I especially love the happy hour deal. You get a wine flight (3 glasses) for $12. The glasses are big, too! Outside of the happy hour, the wine glasses are as big as my face (no exaggeration)! Olivier (Manager) is wonderful, and Stephan is the best waiter. I’ve been three times already and can’t wait to go back again. My favorite foods are the shisito peppers, pistachio crusted goat cheese, lobster risotto, frites, and the scallops. And don’t forget the creme brûlée for dessert! They also give the check in these cute little French books! I was sad when the Belgian bar closed originally, but now I’m so happy that Amelie is here! The best French restaurant on the UWS! And it’s in good company with the Mermaid Inn right next door! 🙂
Excited to try this new gem Upper west side. Already a big fan of their restaurant in Greenwich village, but this one is even more intimate and charming. Have you ever tried baked Camembert ? Or coq au vin ? The food here is amazing, tasty and fresh, the team is very friendly and welcoming. Why are you still reading this review !?? Book your table now

The Interior at Amelie Wine Bar
Enjoy the scenery of a dramatic wall of lit up wine bottles, soaring wooden wine shelves, vintage theater seats and pleasant rose-colored lighting fixtures. The walls consist of multi-colored wooden paneling topped with exposed red brick, plus there are cool black and white checkered floors by the bar.
Amelie Wine Bar is located at 566 Amsterdam Avenue (the former home of B. Cafe). They have another NYC location at 22 West 8th Street, as well a location in San Francisco.
