Recent Community Board 7 notes indicate Amsterdam Ale House just might be opening a second location! According to the notes, the bar has leased space at 588 Amsterdam Avenue, between 88th and 89th Streets, and has applied for a two-year liquor license (which members of CB7 are scheduled to discuss on Wednesday, June 12th).
The Upper West Side bar is also expected to include outdoor space. I don’t want to get myself (or you) too excited, but the exact verbiage is “Includes Patio/Deck and Garden/Grounds”. So, could that mean an actual beer garden?!
Here are the Community Board 7 notes which include this (hopefully) awesome news. We reached out to Amsterdam Ale House for comment but haven’t gotten a response as of yet.
If the new bar is similar to their original location on 76th Street, expect a very extensive beer list!
588 Amsterdam was purchased along with 590, 592, and 594 in 2018 for $33 million. The new owner, Glick Property Group, renovated the buildings to bring in new retail tenants. The most recent tenant at 588 Amsterdam was Caridad.
We’ll provide you with an update about this as soon as we have one!
