Apple recently announced that three new projects will be featured at the 2020 SXSW Film Festival (between March 13th – 21st), and one of them is Central Park – an animated musical series about a family of caretakers who live and work in Central Park, “end up saving the park, and basically the world”.
Central Park was created by Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith, who respectfully created and executive produced Bob’s Burgers.
The cast includes Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr, Tituss Burgess, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Daveed Diggs and Kathryn Hahn.

Central Park was developed at 20th Century Fox Television and was originally supposed to air on FOX, but they ultimately passed on the series. A bidding war between Apple, Netflix and Hulu soon followed, and on March 12th of 2018, it was announced that Apple had committed to two-seasons and a total of 26 episodes.
The SXSW feature will precede the Apple TV launch. We reached out to Apple to find out when Central Park will air and we’ll let you know if and when they get back to us!
