Free outdoor entertainment will be taking place on Saturday at 107th and Columbus Avenue as part of the City’s Open Boulevards initiative.
Open Boulevards was created as an expansion to Open Streets, with the purpose of “transform[ing] city streets into cultural destinations for New Yorkers and visitors.”
There’s now a non-profit called OpenCultureWORKS which is “partner[ing] with artists, arts groups, and cultural organizations to bring live performing arts programs and events to streets, parks, plazas, and other public spaces.” Joining forces with the non-profit is architecture and design firm Rockwell Group; TAIT, a global leader in design, engineering and manufacturing for live events; and Moët Hennessy USA.

… OpenCultureWORKS will be bringing these live performances to the ten Open Boulevards, and the kickoff event will be taking place on the UWS (in partnership with the Columbus Amsterdam Business Improvement District).

I thought Columbus was only closed on Sunday morning?
So the M11 bus is now completely rerouted – Amsterdam and Columbus- each weekend?
Not right IMO to impact critical bus mass transit for restaurant dining and entertainment.
Rerouting the bus is a real hardship for elderly and people with disabilities.
