5 April Events Worth Leaving the Upper West Side For

Even though I rarely want to leave the Upper West Side, there are a few awesome April events coming up (and continuing) which make it tempting. Here are 5 stimulating spectacles happening around NYC!

Macy’s Flower Show

March 24th to April 7th at Macy’s Herald Square, 151 West 34th Street

This year marks the 45th annual Macy’s Flower Show, where beautiful floral arrangements are on display for two weeks.  This year’s intergalactic-themed show is titled Journey to Paradisios – Operation: Inspiration. In addition to the colorful arrangements, there will be live music, kids activities and seminars.

Orchid Show

February 23rd to April 28th at the New York Botanical Garden

The 17th annual Orchid Show is inspired by the city of Singapore, where the orchid is the national flower. The show will pay tribute to “supertrees” and “arches” which can be found in Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Botanic Gardens.

April 6th from 3-5pm at Washington Square Park
