Have you ever looked at a piece of art and thought to yourself, “I wish I could ask the artist a question…” Well, now is your chance! On Saturday, September 22nd, New Yorkers can meet artist Sarah E. Brook and learn all about the newest sculpture on display in Riverside Park called Viewfinding. Read on for more info about the Art in the Parks Potluck Artist Talk with Sarah E. Brook
Sarah E. Brook, an artist based in Brooklyn, says “My sculptures and installations engage both internal and external expanses, exploring how vastness can dismantle limiting narratives of being.” Viewfinding is a public sculpture that Brook will install in Riverside Park from August of 2018 through August of 2019. The piece will consist of a “series of tall translucent color gradient panels that will align with the summer sunset over the Hudson River,” says the artist. In addition, 26 Queer Poets will have text integrated into her artwork, and will be reading at the September 22nd event.
