Bar 314 recently opened at 1260 Amsterdam (between 122nd and 123rd Streets). The new Morningside Heights eatery is an Italian style bar and restaurant serving 13 signature pies, small plates, sandwiches served on pizza dough, and an extensive cocktail list.
A couple of their pies have been named after the neighborhood:
The “Morningside” comes with eggplant, olives, oregano, capers and pecorino.
And the “Riverside” is made with Sicilian tuna, red onion, cherry peppers, arugula and grana.

Small plates include Italian favorites like burrata, a meat and cheese plate and crostone.

Another interesting sounding item on their menu is a dry-aged beef burger served on a pretzel roll with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, taleggio, and hand cut fries. This goes for $17.
And regarding their sandwiches served on pizza dough bread, here’s a lovely capture from thecuriousuptowner.com:
There are five of these sandwiches, and they are only available for lunch.
The new bar and restaurant also features over 20 original cocktails focusing on apertivos, digestifs and other Italian bitters (the bar manager is Bruno Molfetta). Plenty of beer and wine too.
Bar 314 comes from the chef of Babbalucci in Harlem, Andrew LoPresto. I’ve been there a few times. They have an awesome aperol spritz and very flavorful crostinis.
Bar 314 is open every day from 11am to 10pm. Here’s their website.
