Bareburger has finally opened its doors at 2233 Broadway, between 79th and 80th Streets (formerly occupied by Ikinari Steak, which closed after a pretty short run). This is the burger chain’s second UWS location; they opened a spot in Columbus Square in 2019.
The new location actually opened a few weeks ago. We’re a bit late on this one because the opening was delayed so much that I guess we stopped paying attention. (Bareburger’s marketing director originally told us they were aiming for November 2019).

If you haven’t been to Bareburger, they serve a pretty wide variety of grass-fed burgers, plus some more unique burgers including one made from organic turkey, both Impossible Burgers and Beyond Burgers, as well as a veggie burger made from quinoa, chia and green pea.
Bareburger also has a kids menu and offers gluten-free and vegan milkshakes and desserts.
They’ll be participating in the upcoming Taste of the Upper West Side (October 1 from 7-10pm).
The new location is open daily from noon-10pm.

I was gonna say, I noticed this place had opened weeks ago. But I walk various places on the west side. And I read signs. I mean to be snarky here, because this blog clearly missed the fact that the City DoT is scraping and repaving streets in the West 60s and 70s. Only blogging about this normal every say 10 years event after it had started.
I don’t eat burgers. But many people I know who do, say that Bareburger is among the best of them. They are also open until 10 pm, which is pretty late even on the UWS (at least right now), and it looks like they are going for the old Big Nick’s late-night, outdoor crowd. I wish them nothing but success.
