Coffee retailer Blue Bottle Coffee will be opening up a location on Columbia’s campus, Commercial Observer has reported. They’ll be setting up shop at 2901-2913 Broadway, between 113th and 114th Streets. This building is owned by Columbia University, and it’s also where Dos Toros will be opening in the fall.
In addition, board game cafe Hex & Company will be taking a 4,322 square foot space in the building, while vegan bowl and smoothie shop Loco Coco will be taking a small space at the property.
Blue Bottle Coffee’s Columbia location will be their second in the neighborhood; the Blue Bottle at 73rd and Amsterdam opened in September of 2018. They currently have sixteen stores in Manhattan.
More notable recent activity in the West 100s:
Wu + Nussbaum opened on 113th and Broadway in July. They replaced long-time favorite Nussbaum + Wu, and in addition to the original bakery classics, are serving Chinese noodles and dumplings
Nobody Told Me opened at 951 Amsterdam (between 106th and 107th Streets) in early June, and we were impressed enough to put them in our best new restaurant guide. The cocktails are amazing, and the food highlight is the fried chicken sandwich.
This one has nothing to do with food. But the Morningside Lights Festival will be happening on September 21st. It looks awesome.
