Boulevard Seafood Company Will Soon Close

Last modified on January 22nd, 2020

Boulevard Seafood Company replaced Henry’s at 2745 Broadway, between 105th and 106th Streets, late last year. The owner of Henry’s, Henry Rinehart, had sold the restaurant to his business partner, Scott Snyder, who owns Boulevard Seafood Company in Somerset, NJ.

Henry’s was a fixture on the Upper West Side, open since 1999. One of the goals of Boulevard Seafood Company was to pay its predecessor homage with the opening of their Upper West Side restaurant (by making the transition smooth and keeping some Henry’s classics on the menu).  Unfortunately, one of our readers has informed us that they plan to close in a couple of weeks. The reader was informed by a waitress.

Overall reviews have been very mixed since Boulevard Seafood Company opened.

One early OpenTable reviewer found the transition From Henry’s to Boulevard Seafood Company was executed successfully:

This is an exciting and very encouraging reincarnation of the spirit established by Henry himself. The ambiance remains as welcoming and embracing as before and Boulevard Seafood has brought back seafood to the UWS after the closures of Docks and Ocean Grill. Keep up the good vibes!

But Yelp reviews were not so complimentary. Many mention it being a subpar version of Henry’s. Common criticisms include slow and sometimes rude service, as well as disappointing and overpriced food.

We reached out to the restaurant for comment but have not yet heard back from them.
