Central Park SummerStage 2019

Central Park SummerStage 2019 will be running from May through September. SummerStage is the largest outdoor free performing arts festival of its kind. It takes place around different venues of NYC and more than 100 performances will be taking place across 18 neighborhood parks this year. And the flagship venue in Central Park is also going a full transformation, which will make it more equipped than ever before!

The venue will have a new stage and enhanced sound system, better lighting, improved backstage areas, heightened seating and an overall better experience for those who wish to attend. Read more about the SummerStage renovations.


Central Park SummerStage 2019 Highlights:

Tuesday, June 4th:  George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic 

As part of the One Nation Under A Groove tour, Clinton and P-Funk will be joined by Galactic, Fishbone, and Dumpstaphunk

Thursday, June 20th:  Khruangbin with Connan Mockasin and Kikagaku Moyo  

The psychedelic band will perform with rock artist Connan Mockasin from New Zealand and Kikagaku Moyo from Japan.

Wednesday, August 28th:  King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard 

Known for their electrifying live performances, the Australian psych-rock band will perform hits from their new release entitled “Cyboogie”.

Monday, September 16th:  Marina – Love + Fear Tour 

Marina will perform her single entitled “Handmade Heaven”, which was produced by Grammy award-winner Joel Little.

The SummerStage 2019 concerts listed above will all take place at Rumsey Playfield. The venue is located by 14 E. 71st street in Central Park. The City Parks Foundation backs SummerStage. Funds from each ticket also support the continuation of this wonderful performing arts festival.

SummerStage was founded in 1968 with the mission of enriching the lives of New Yorkers and exposing residents of all five boroughs to the arts. The festival has become a signature summer must-do activity for many West Siders, and attracts over 250,000 visitors each year.
