Children Marching for MLK

From 10am to 2pm on January 20th, eighth graders from Manhattan Country School will be marching through the Upper West Side to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The march will begin at The Harriet Tubman Memorial, at 122nd and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, and end at Manhattan Country Day School, located at 150 West 85th Street.

The students will be speaking out about the most important civil rights issues of today. The students themselves are responsible for not only planning the route but also for choosing the topics, writing the speeches and publicizing the event.

This will mark the 32nd year of the student’s march.

The general public is invited to watch these impressive young people commemorate Dr. King this month.  For more info, check out the official page here.
