Columbus Gourmet Closes

Last modified on October 23rd, 2024

Columbus Gourmet, located at 261 Columbus Avenue (just off the north east corner of 72nd Street), closed down last week. Our tipster, Pete Webb, told us that they were still offering take-out and delivery earlier last week.

But on Friday, the landlord posted a sign in the window which stated that Columbus Gourmet had closed due to a legal judgement and outstanding back rent.

The business owner had also posted a notice (both online and on the door) which stated the closure was due to Covid-19.

Regardless of what caused this closing, this is a difficult time for every Upper West Side business – and their employees.
