With the warmer weather finally upon us, New Yorkers are constantly looking for reasons to spend time outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. So here’s one more reason: CraftNewYork, an open-air pop-up craft fair, will return to Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center on June 8th and 9th. And it’s completely free to the public!
CraftNewYork is one of the seven shows curated by Artrider Productions this year. Since 1982, Artrider has successfully made its mark as one of the most exquisite contemporary craft and art shows in the Northeast communities of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. It continues to uphold its longstanding commitment towards sustaining the careers of thousands of artists by bringing over 75,000 shoppers to support them at annual events.
New Yorkers can expect to see an exciting variety of art at CraftNewYork from 175 artists, all of whom were carefully selected by the Artrider jury.
They’ll be something for everyone at this year’s craft show:
- Jewelry
- Wearable and non-wearable fiber
- Ceramic sculptures
- Glass, leather and metal
- Mixed media
- Fine art such as painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography
And CraftNewYork is not just for craft lovers anymore; they’ve expanded to feature gourmet foods like truffle-infused condiments and bourbon-barrel aged maple syrup, plus wine and spirit tastings from Hudson Valley distilleries!
In addition to giving craft artists an exciting opportunity to showcase their work, Artrider has also helped raise money for important causes. Artrider has raised thousands of dollars for CERF+ (Craft Emergency Relief Funds + Artists Emergency Resources), Guilford Art Center, and Westport Women’s League. It has also raised more than $3 million for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
CraftNewYork will be happening on two dates:
- Saturday, June 8th from 10am to 7pm
- Sunday, June 9th from 10am to 5pm
