Design Within Reach Returning To Upper West Side of Manhattan: the modern furniture company will be returning to the UWS, Business Insider first reported. They are expected to open a new store in early 2019.
The space will be located at 2164 Broadway, between 76th and 77th Streets, which was previously a Sephora. The new Design Within Reach studio will measure 6,500 square feet, which is much larger than their previous location at 341 Columbus, which closed in 2015. I lived around the corner when they had their old location, and never really saw anyone in there, so it wasn’t very surprising when they shut that store down.
The president of DWR seems optimistic about the busier avenue’s foot traffic.
“We’re excited to return to Manhattan’s Upper West Side,” says DWR President John McPhee. “We have a prime location on Broadway that has significant foot traffic and at three times the size of our previous location will better serve the modern design fans who live in the neighborhood.”
The company was founded in 1998 and has its headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
