In late July, commercial real estate firm Judson CRE announced that it had leased 420 Amsterdam Avenue (corner of 80th Street) – and that the tenant would be bringing a “new concept” to the neighborhood.
A few months later, our tipster ‘Upper West Sider’ discovered through DOB filings that the tenant would be Black Lab Coffee, a new entity from the owners of Clean Bowl Club NYC … a company which “hand-deliver[s] freshly prepared, nutrient-packed dog food exclusively for New Yorkers.”

We reached out to the company for more information about Black Lab Coffee, and what they told us is that “it will be a dog-friendly café and the home base for our fresh dog food as well.” They’re a bit delayed in their opening but are aiming for March 2022.
Reps from the company said they’d give us more info as they get closer to opening, but hopefully they’ll decide to give us a teaser sooner. It sounds pretty exciting for any dog owners who like coffee. (And maybe some good food … we’ve asked about that too).
The last tenant to occupy 420 Amsterdam Ave was Olma Restaurant and Bar, which closed in late 2019.
We’ll provide an update as soon as we have more details!
We truly are the pet care neighborhood of NYC.
Arf! Arf!
Exactly what we need – more dog poop and urine on 80th!
There’s a doggie coffee shop on 181st near the GWB.
