Duo Sought for Robbing Cell Phone, Headphones

NYPD officials have issued an alert about a series of robberies which took place in the West 100s during October. Police are hoping someone from the public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individuals.

The first reported robbery occurred on Wednesday, October 16 at about 9:55 a.m., when two suspects approached a 21-year-old female in front of 401 West 115th Street (on Morningside Drive). After the suspects “snatched her cellphone out of her hand,” according to the police report, they fled–one south on Morningside Drive, the other in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The second and third robberies both took place on Sunday, October 27 at about 8 p.m.

One of the suspects approached a 26-year-old female walking on 109th and Broadway and attempted to forcibly remove her headphones. She suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention. At the same time, the other suspect approached a 19-year-old male walking on 113th and Broadway, displayed a knife, and forcibly removed his headphones from his neck. He did not sustain any injuries.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspects, as well as a video of the individual riding the scooter.
