On Monday night, an eleven-year-old boy was found unresponsive with a shoelace around his neck in the lobby of the Stratford Arms building at 117 West 70th Street, which is currently housing migrant families.
He was found at about 5 p.m. and rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
NYPD officials believe it was a suicide. An investigation is ongoing and the city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Earlier on Monday, a 37-year-old man was found dead from an apparent suicide in Central Park.
