According to an initial police dispatch call, it was initially believed to be a stove fire, but FDNY officials told ILTUWS on Friday morning that the cause was still under investigation.
Video shared on Citizen shows FDNY and EMS vehicles responding to the scene as sirens blare and passersby watch from adjacent street corners.

My dear friend lives in that building on the 7th floor. She’s ok but sounds like there could be a fair amount of smoke and water damage. No loss of life, so that is a blessing!
