The FDNY was called to the scene of a second-floor fire on the Upper West Side Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were notified at 6:30 p.m. about billowing smoke coming from a second-floor apartment at 172 West 107th Street, a five-story building located between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues.

A total of 12 units and 60 fire & EMS personnel were deployed to the scene.
Video shared on Citizen app shows firefighters battling the flames within the apartment, with a hose and ladder extended through the unit’s windows. Other firefighters can be seen entering through the building’s lobby and surveying its roof.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and the extent of the damage was not made immediately clear.
No injuries resulted from the fire, and the blaze was deemed under control at 7:10 p.m.
