Flying Tiger Copenhagen Closing All Stores

Last modified on December 27th, 2020

Flying Tiger Copenhagen will be closing all of its US stores by late November, Patch first reported. This includes its Upper West Side location at 424 Columbus Avenue, between 80th and 81st Streets.

The Danish variety and toy chain opened its first store in Copenhagen in 1995, eventually growing to over 950 stores.

Sales are being offered at all locations, and the company stated on its Facebook page that all gift cards must be used by November 20.

Dear Customers

For the past 5 years, we have loved providing everyday magic for thousands of people in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. We have built an amazing team of store colleagues. We have had our ups and downs but have always felt the love from our customers… and that love is reciprocated.
However, the past 7 months have, for obvious reasons, been a bigger struggle for us than we could have ever imagined, which is why we have made the extremely difficult decision to close all our stores in the United States as of late November.
If you have a gift card, please make sure to use it before 11/20/2020.
We are very sad to close our stores and to say goodbye to our awesome colleagues. We wish them and all of our lovely customers the best!
With Much Love

Flying Tiger also has soon-to-close locations on the Upper East Side and in Flatiron.
