Learn How You Can Attend Free New York City Judaism Classes for Young Adults on The Upper West Side in January 2014
Hey! Are you in your 20’s and 30’s? Have you returned from Birthright and are curious to learn a little more? Are you feeling disconnected from your Jewish roots? Or are you dating a nice Jewish boy or girl, but aren’t Jewish yourself?
If you find yourself nodding along, then you will want to join other young adults for three weekly free classes with a modern Jewish take on spirituality, values and community. All are welcome – Jewish or not at, “A Taste of Judaism…Are You Curious?™”
But this isn’t your grandmother’s Judaism class…
“Young Instructors — Laid Back Vibe”
These free New York City Judaism classes are specifically for young adults in their 20’s and 30’s. You’ll feel at ease when you meet the young and laid back instructors. You can expect classes to be dynamic and interactive. Teachers are accessible, fun, and can answer any and all of your questions.
One of the other great things about these free Judaism classes is that there are no typical participants. Previous attendees have included everyone from unaffiliated Jews who feel that they haven’t been in touch with their religion, to Birthright participants who only now discovered their Jewish roots and are inspired to learn more, to partners in interfaith relationships. These free classes are welcoming and casual. Join the discussion either in Brooklyn, or right here on the Upper West Side in early 2014.
These free Judaism classes could be the perfect answer to your religious curiosity, even if you’re not Jewish yourself.
“What Should I Expect At My First Class?”
Taking a new class means meeting many new faces. However, you can count on being warmly welcomed at the location by a volunteer or the instructor of the class. The open and warm atmosphere of these classes will ensure that when you attend the second and third classes- these new faces will already become familiar and friendly ones!
Right off the bat you will notice the rabbis at the classes are passionate about Judaism, and are incredibly eager to teach people about it. They look forward to helping everyone learn together, no matter what drew you to learn more about Judaism, and how familiar you are (or aren’t) with principles of Jewish life and belief. That way you’re sure to feel comfortable, and you can always engage on your own terms.
During the classes, you will be introduced to Jewish terminology, values and concepts. The first class will focus on Jewish spirituality, the second- on Jewish values, and the last- on Jewish community. You will have discussions, view texts and be able to ask questions and share out. These classes will give you a taste of Judaism, which may very well leave you hungry for more!
