FREE Performing Arts Classes on Instagram Live!

Four Corners Creative, a children’s performing arts company based on the UWS and UES, is currently offering free dance classes, acting classes and story time sessions through Instagram live!

Classes are geared towards children between 18 months and 10 years, and range from ballet to hip-hop to acting adventures, story time, musical theatre and beyond.

The company has had children from all around the world join in, and owner Kate Meek has been thrilled to bring her free classes into people’s homes during this chaotic time.

“We as a company hope to bring laughter, creativity and some light into these uncertain times for our students and now kids from around the world are joining our classes. It’s a privilege to teach and an honor we do not take lightly. All of our teachers are working performers, and former teachers from Broadway will also be joining for some live classes as well!”

To join a class, all you have to do is follow @fourcornerscreative on Instagram and tune in every day at 10am for the live class. The schedule is also posted on their Instagram feed each week.

But, if you miss the live Instagram videos, they also post them on their Youtube channel. Here’s one recent lesson!

While classes are completely free, Four Corners Creative is accepting donations through their Venmo account. All donations will go directly to supporting the amazing teaching artists who have lost the bulk of their income, as well as to NoKidHungry.org.

Dance. Act. Sing. Grow.
Four Corners Creative was founded in 2008 by Kate Meek and is based on the UWS and UES. FCC seeks to provide a fun, non-competitive space for children to sing, act, dance, play, and grow.  FCC uses the arts to promote confidence, leadership, and critical life skills. They offer studio classes on the Upper East Side and Upper West Side, and teach as a part of the after-school curriculum for numerous public and private schools in Manhattan.
