Twelve free outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night will be taking place between July 15 and August 1.
The shows, which are being presented by The Greenhouse Ensemble, will be held at Summit Rock in Central Park (83rd Street and Central Park West) and at the West Side Community Garden (123 West 89th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues).
Here’s a brief trailer:
“We’re working with eleven really talented artists in this production who have been working for months on this project, beginning with rehearsals on zoom until it was safe to start rehearsing in person,” says cast member Reanna Armellino. “We are all over the moon to be finally returning to live theater. This is our first outdoor production at Greenhouse, and it’s been amazing to spend our spring and summer rehearsing in the parks!” The majority of rehearsals took place in Riverside Park right behind the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
Performances will be held at 6pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. While they are free to attend, reserving tickets is encouraged as there are still capacity restrictions. Here’s the eventbrite page. Donations are also welcome, here.
