Fresh Cosmetics Store Closing

Fresh, located at 159 Columbus Avenue (at 67th Street), will be closing at the end of the month. We were informed by a member of UWS Save Our Stores; the manager told them that their rent will be increasing substantially, to the point where it wouldn’t make sense to attempt a negotiation.

The company was founded in 1991 by Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, Russian immigrants living in Boston who saw the need for “beauty that was both effective and indulgent”. Their first product was a soap they hand-wrapped themselves. They now offer a full line of skincare, lip care, bodycare, and fragrances.

Fresh also has a location in Dallas, Texas, and three stores in California.

The Upper 60s has seen quite a bit of change in recent times.

In the last month, the Joie on 69th and Columbus closed, and Capezio closed on 69th and Amsterdam.

But in happier news, Color Me Mine has opened on 68th and Amsterdam, and Sapphire opened on Broadway between 68th and 69th Streets.
