Functional fireplaces are rare and hard to find these days. Here are two very unique and charming Upper West Side apartments with working fireplaces. They’re both available now!
First, this one-bedroom on 71st between Amsterdam and West End.
In addition to having a wood-burning fireplace, this apartment has SEVEN living room windows, southern exposure and crazy amount of sunlight, a small private balcony, and a huge overhead loft (like the biggest loft you’ve ever seen). Here’s a link to the apartment.
And this one. This is a floor-through 2 bedroom on 95th between Central Park West and Columbus Ave.
Located in a three-unit owner-occupied brownstone. The apartment has a wood-burning fireplace, private terrace, washer/dryer and north and south exposures. Here’s a link to this apartment.
I was interviewed about apartments with fireplaces a few years ago by DNAInfo (I know, I’m still sad they shut down too). But one thing I mentioned was that a lot of people who get really excited about fireplaces don’t actually end up using them. So even though they look pretty, think about whether you’re going to put the time into getting the Duraflame package from Fairway. Because it certainly adds a premium to the rent.
The interview is still online, luckily. Feel free to check it out here.
