Harold Mabern Trio

September 8-10, 7.30pm & 9.30pm

Harold Mabern is an 81-year-old jazz prodigy who was born in the city of Memphis. He’s regarded as being one of the leaders of the post-bop and soul jazz sub-genres. He’ll be performing live along with bassist Nat Reeves and drummer Joe Farnsworth at this year’s festival. As a talented pianist, Mabern has also played with legends such as Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, Lionel Hampton, and Sonny Rollins. His last album, “Afro Blue”, was released in 2015 and features vocals from Norah Jones and Gregory Porter. Fall in love with Mabern’s breezy style and watch this trio of jazz titans in action at Dizzy’s Club.
