It’s Sea-Doo season!
At about 2:15pm on Saturday, police responded to a call about a guy who fell off his jet ski in the Hudson River near 79th Street.
We reached out to the NYPD’s press office and a spokesperson sent us the following statement:
“On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1414 hours police responded to a 911 call of person in the water in the vicinity of Henry Husdon Parkway and West 79th Street within the confines of the 24 Precinct. NYPD Harbor units responded and observed that one individual became separated from a jet ski. NYPD Harbor responded and removed the male from the water. He did not suffer any injuries. The jet ski was privately towed from the location.”
The incident was also published on Citizen App, though on here a dispatch call indicated that there were actually four people rescued from the water.
We’re not sure where the Wave Runners originated, but there are several Brooklyn and New Jersey based jet ski tour and rental companies which are quite popular during the warmer months.
He wasn’t injured? He coulda gotten back on and continued.
