Police are looking for a suspect wanted for committing an assault on an Upper West Side subway this weekend.
It happened on Sunday at about 7:50 p.m. on a northbound 1 train approaching West 116th Street.
A 27-year-old man told police that while he was sitting on the train, he accidentally elbowed someone – at which point that someone “proceeded to punch [him] in the face causing minor injuries.”
Following the assault, the suspect fled and the victim got off the train at 116th Street. He was taken by EMS to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.
Police describe the suspect “as a female with a light complexion and a medium build. She has gauge earrings, a nose piercing and a tattoo on her left arm.”
Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by sending a direct message to @NYPDTips on Twitter.
