A new Upper West Side kosher place has opened! Holy Schnitzel, a New York franchise has opened a location in the former home of Amsterdam Burger, 654 Amsterdam Ave (corner of West 92nd). We first go the news from Great Kosher Restaurant Foodies. They currently have four locations: one in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Long Island.
You can find quite a few yummy looking comfort foods on their starter menu: wings, popcorn chicken, and a whole bunch of chicken finger varieties (ranging from $7.50 to $9).
Chicken fingers can come in sesame and buffalo & honey barbecue. They also make corn flake covered fingers, and their signature Crazy Chicken Finger Dog ($7.50 and pictured below).
They offer salads with many dressings to choose from (several types of mayo, their own house made “Holy Sauce” and “Holy Hot Sauce”). You can create your own for a base price of $8.50. Ready made salads go for between $8.50 and $11.
Their schnitzel and chicken sandwiches are served on a baguette with the option to add pastrami or bacon (Gasp… don’t worry, it’s kosher!). These all go for $11.50.
Check out the Holy Toasty: Crispy Chicken Topped with Grilled Pastrami on a Flat Toasted Baguette with Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, & Sautéed Onions, Honey Mustard & Holy Sauce.
Burgers range from $7.50 for their “baby burger” to $13 for their double decker. You can also try their pastrami burger or their “Holy Guacamole”.
Wraps go for $10.50 to $12
Platters go for between $15 and $17 and come with two sides. Their cajun fries look amazing.
