Indoor dining will return to NYC on September 30, though restaurants will be limited to a 25% capacity, Governor Cuomo has announced.
Here are the regulations which will be in place:
- 25% occupancy limit
- All patrons must have temperature checked at door
- One member of each party will be required to provide restaurant with contact info for tracing if needed
- No service after midnight
- No bar service
- Masks must be worn when not seated at a table; tables must be six feet apart
- Strict adherence to all State-issued guidance
- Enhanced air filtration, ventilation and purification standards
This news may come as a surprise to many, as both the governor and mayor seemed to hold grim outlooks about indoor dining at their recent press conferences.
Mayor de Blasio did state, however, that the city would reconsider allowing indoor dining if NYC reaches a 2% positivity rate.

According to a report by Eater, Governor Cuomo has also set November 1 as the deadline to allow restaurant owners to fill their spaces to 50% capacity.
With such a large number of recent closings, this will hopefully be a light at the end of the tunnel for so many restaurateurs who’ve wondered when things will return to normal – or at least return to manageable.
Temperature check before food must be rectal. Sick clients can erase the fever with 2 tablets of Tylenol. Also, pulse check must be done ,blood pressure check, oxygen check. We don’t need half dead people in our restaurants.
If Cuomo or De Blasio shoves up – brain MRA required as well (to see if there is any).
