The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is launching a fall and winter children’s clothing drive for homeless students of District 3 public schools.
The drive will run from Monday, October 28 to Sunday, November 10, and all donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the JCC at 334 Amsterdam Avenue (at 76th Street).
They will be accepting clothing in infant, toddler, child, and teen sizes, including pants, shirts, sweaters, dresses, pajamas, coats, jackets, hats, gloves, and shoes. Socks and underwear must be new.
On November 10, the last day of the clothing drive, the JCC will also be hosting a community recycling day, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stations will be set up on the sidewalk outside of the JCC where you can recycle items including gently used fall and winter clothing, e-waste and unused textiles.
Both initiatives are being co-sponsored by the office of Council Member Gale Brewer. Learn more here.
