Kids Camps Happening This Summer

Summer is time off for many of us, and for those that have children, the lack of a consistent schedule during the summer can cause some stress. Luckily, there are many kids camps happening during the summer on the Upper West Side that are sure to keep both you and your children happy. Whether your children like sports, technology, art, or music, there is certainly a camp for them.

Paper Source: Kids Art Camp (309 Columbus Avenue)
If your child is someone who loves crafts of any kind and is always eager to create, this camp is perfect. Paper Source, located on Columbus Ave. between 75th street and 74th street, is a craft store mecca with a kids camp running from the middle of June through the beginning of August, excluding the first two weeks of July. They offer two sessions daily for two age groups, ages six-nine in the mornings and ages ten and up in the afternoon. What’s better than expressing creativity, especially during the beautiful summer! Launch Math & Science Centers: STEM Summer Camps (173 West 81st Street)
For the kid that loves to explore the world of math and science and can’t absorb enough information during the school year, the Launch Math and Science Centers is a great summer camp option. They have two UWS locations, one on 81st and Amsterdam, and another on 68th between Columbus Ave. and CPW. Camp days are packed with activities and personalized attention, so your child can learn as much as possible on topics ranging from physics and engineering for juniors all the way to coding and robotics for tweens. Oasis Day Camp (Central Park)
This day camp is a wonderful way for your children to soak up the nature of Central Park during the hot summer days. Oasis is open to campers ages three to fifteen with various programs specific for your child’s age group. Lunch and transportation are provided, along with a myriad of other benefits. NYC Elite: Gymnastics Camp (200 Riverside Blvd)
If you have a child that is constantly moving and loves to cartwheel or tumble or just play whenever they can, then NYC Elite has a summer camp option perfect for you and your energetic little one. Their UWS location offers both a half-day camp for three and four-year-old kids and a full day option for children ages five and up. Visit their website for more information about registration!

Silver Music: Music and Art Camp (218 West 72nd Street)
This camp is geared a bit more specifically for children that play chamber instruments and want to practice their skills during the summer. One of the camp options is a Full Day String Camp for dedicated students ranging from ages eight to twelve, but there are other programs for different instruments.
