Tune in to the first episode of Law & Order: SVU’s 25th season and you might just exclaim, “I’ve been there!” when you see Captain Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective Carisi (Peter Scanavino) and Lieutenant Tutuola (Ice-T) talking crime and being legendary at V&T Restaurant & Pizzeria at 1024 Amsterdam Avenue (between 110th and 111th streets).

The beloved family-owned and operated restaurant that’s been keeping the neighborhood fed since 1945 – originally at 122nd Street and at this location since 1951 – served the cast its classic Italian cuisine on Monday, which V&T staff called “a very cool experience.”
Season 25 of Law & Order: SVU will premiere Thursday, January 18 at 9 p.m. on NBC. And now that the Writers Guild of America strike has finally come to an end, you can expect more film shoots and celebrity sightings to start taking place again in the neighborhood.

You may even be able to catch another Law & Order shoot in the neighborhood as the show has been staging scenes across the UWS for years.

Our scenic streets have been the backdrop to many a widescreen scene through the years. Back in March, Emmy-award winning Melissa McCarthy brought her magical energy to 77th and Columbus where she shot her Christmas movie remake, Genie, now available on Peacock.
And who could forget the years of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s cast and crew turning the clocks back to Manhattan’s former 1950s glory on the streets of the Upper West Side?

Exciting that the much beloved Law & Order SVU is again filming and filming on the UWS. However please note that Carisis has been an Assistant DA for several years now, after finishing law school and leaving the NYPD.
V & T is a Gem of the west side. Their special pizza is not the only attraction. Check out the house salad and the chicken marsala1 And they deliver!
Been going for about 50 years. Anyone who thinks the pizza is too salty doesn’t “get” the old-school use of salt. They say the same thing about Sal & Carmines!
