Levain Bakery first introduced the world to their “Two Chip” cookie on February 25th, 2020. At the time, this cookie – “a deliciously decadent cookie with a mix of two kinds of chocolate” and no walnuts – was only available at Levain’s NoHo location, which opened in late February as well.

This cookie was a long time in the making. The initial announcement stated that “Since opening 25 years ago, our number one request has been a chocolate chip cookie without walnuts.” This would not have been my first guess as to the most frequent request, but I’m glad they moved forward with it. Everyone seemed to be full of joy with this decision.
Once released, the two chip cookie made huge arounds across social media, to no surprise at all.

Even Upper West Siders ventured downtown to try the new treat.
But that won’t be necessary any more!

Not listed: Levain Bakery 2167 Frederick Douglass Blvd, New York, NY 10026 in Harlem, where they do not even sell cookies, let alone distribute them.
I live three blocks from the Harlem branch of Levain Bakery and the above is incorrect–they do indeed sell cookies! Not sure what you mean by “distribute” them, but cookies are for sale and have been since it opened.
It took them 25 years to respond to the most requested cookie?? Great customer service. I’ll pass.
Decadent and delicious–now they’ve made them even more so. I do try to resist most days (I am at an age when such things go right to my tummy) but they are absolutely the most delicious cookies in the world. Brava to the two woman who have made this such a wonderful addition to the UWS. Thank you!
