Last year we reported that Levain Bakery had plans to expand nationally. Well, that expansion is starting in NYC. And the beloved bakery is not only expanding with new locations, but also a new cookie!
On Wednesday, February 26th, a sixth NYC location will open in NoHo at 340 Lafayette Street (at Bleecker Street). But what’s more exciting is that it will be the first location to offer a brand new cookie they’ve been working on.
According to The New York Times, the new cookie will be offered at other Levain Bakery locations come late March.
Here’s the cookie, followed by a description from Levain’s owners:

INTRODUCING TWO CHIP!!! We are so excited to finally share with you our newest cookie flavor: Two Chip Chocolate Chip. Since opening 25 years ago, our number one request has been a chocolate chip cookie without walnuts. So, our founders Pam and Connie spent months coming up with the recipe for Two Chip: a deliciously decadent cookie with a mix of two kinds of chocolate chips. And although we have always loved our OG Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie (and we always will! #TeamWalnut) we are so excited to share this new cookie with you. Two Chip will be exclusive to NoHo for a little while where you can try it for yourself and decide if you’re #Team2Chip
The two chip cookie has started to make its rounds on Instagram (and we don’t see it stopping anytime soon):
Levain Bakery currently has two locations on the Upper West Side, two on the Upper East Side, one in Harlem, and one in the Hamptons. Eater also reports that they might be opening a shop in Williamsburg.
We sure do hope they’ll be bringing this new cookie to our neighborhood soon!Get the newsletter for more food + drink
