Man Stabbed in Allegedly Random Attack

A man was stabbed in an apparently-random attack early Friday morning near Columbus Avenue and West 84th Street as he walked to his car nearby.

The NYPD confirmed that officers had responded to the alleged assault at about 2:50 a.m. to find a 29-year-old male victim stabbed in his abdomen. He was transported to St. Luke’s hospital in stable condition, according to police. As of writing, no arrests have been made and a police investigation was ongoing.

According to the New York Post, the attack was unprovoked and the victim was stabbed in his right side. The Post also reported that the incident happened outside of a CVS on 87th and Amsterdam and that the victim was 30, but the NYPD said otherwise.

We’ll update this post if and when we learn more.
